Wenger expects Alexis resolution within 48 hours

Arsene Wenger expects Alexis Sanchez’s future to be resolved within the next 48 hours.

The Chile international is wanted by both Manchester City and Manchester United, but a bid has yet to be officially accepted by the Gunners.

Speaking after Arsenal lost 2-1 at Bournemouth on Sunday, Wenger said: “It will be decided in the next 48 hours. It was difficult for him because he was on standby a little bit.”

Liverpool prepare €30m Martins bid

Liverpool are willing to pay €30 million to sign Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins, reports Correio da Manha.

Martins’s release clause stands at €60m, but Liverpool are only prepared to offer about half that sum as the Premier League club search for a replacement for Philippe Coutinho.

The 22-year-old has repeatedly been linked with a move to Anfield and Martins can expect to earn five times more than his current salary, if a deal is done.

St Etienne target Debuchy deal

St Etienne are interested in signing Arsenal’s out-of-favour full-back Mathieu Debuchy, according to Telefoot.

Debuchy is looking for a move away from Arsenal in search of regular football and has been linked with a switch to West Brom as part of a potential swap deal involving Jonny Evans.

The France international is also wanted back in Ligue 1, with St Etienne exploring the feasibility of a January deal.

Arsenal & Chelsea make Richarlison approach

Arsenal and Chelsea have made contact with Richarlison’s agent ahead of a potential summer deal for the Watford striker, claims Yahoo Brazil.

Richarlison has scored five Premier League goals for Watford since moving to Vicarage Road in an £11.2 million deal from Fluminense last summer.

The 20-year-old has impressed with his performances, and that has prompted London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea to express early interest in a deal for next season.

Mourinho hints at Mkhi exit

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has hinted that Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be sold as doubts remain over the out-of-favour playmaker.

The Armenia star, who was one of Mourinho’s first signings from Borussia Dortmund in 2016, could return to Signal Iduna Park, while reports have claimed the 28-year-old might be used in a swap deal for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.

Bayern expecting Goretzka decision in a few days

Bayern Munich expect midfield target Leon Goretzka to decide his Schalke future “in a few days”.

Goretzka, 22, has entered the final six months of his Schalke contract and is able to talk to other clubs about a potential free transfer at the end of the season.

The likes of Barcelona, Liverpool and Juventus are rumoured to be interested in the Germany international, but Bayern are leading the chase.

Keita not joining Liverpool in January

Liverpool will not be completing the £57 million signing of Naby Keita until the summer, RB Leipzig have announced, with a January switch ruled out.

Having spent much of the last transfer window pursuing a deal for the Guinea international, an agreement was eventually reached for the midfielder to move ahead of the 2018-19 season.

The Reds had hoped to use some of the money recouped from the sale of Coutinho to bring Keita’s arrival at Anfield forward, but the player’s current club will not sanction an early switch.

Spurs leading Amiri chase

Tottenham are leading the chase to sign highly-rated Hoffenheim playmaker Nadiem Amiri, reports Sport Bild.

The 21-year-old is under contract at Hoffenheim until 2020, but has a €17 million release clause and is wanted in the Premier League following an impressive first half of the season.

Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in Amiri amid suggestions he will leave Hoffenheim in the summer at the latest.

Villa wait on Man Utd’s Tuanzebe answer

Aston Villa are waiting for Manchester United to respond to their offer to sign Axel Tuanzebe on loan, reports the Mirror.

United boss Jose Mourinho is considering letting Tuanzebe go out on loan for the second half of the season, but is concerned about having sufficient cover in his squad.

That has led to worries at Villa that the Championship club will miss out on a deal for the versatile defender before the January transfer window closes.

Conte delays Kenedy loan move

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is delaying Kenedy’s move to Newcastle until he has signed a replacement, according to the Evening Chronicle.

Newcastle have agreed a deal to sign the Brazilian on loan for the rest of the season and the player is keen to move to St James’ Park.

However, Conte does not want to confirm the loan deal until he has been able to add to his own squad in the transfer window.

Wilshere not expecting January deal

Jack Wilshere is not expecting to sign a new contract at Arsenal during the January transfer window, with the midfielder prepared to be patient.

The England international is among those at Emirates Stadium set to hit free agency at the end of the season if fresh terms are not put in place.

Alexis Sanchez will earn up to £60,000-a-week more if he opts for Manchester United over rivals City, claims the Sun.

Pep Guardiola is a big admirer of his former Barcelona charge, but is willing to go as high as a  £20 million fee and £290,000-a-week for his services. 

Not only will United gazump their neighbours by some £10m, but they are also prepared to offer as much as £350,000-a-week to land the Arsenal star in January.

RB Leipzig coach Ralf Rangnick has denied Liverpool have made an offer to sign Naby Keita in January.

“Neither the player has told us that he wants to change, nor is there an offer from Liverpool,” he said on Saturday.

Southampton’s efforts to find Virgil van Dijk’s successor have suffered a setback as Basel’s Manuel Akanji opted for Borussia Dortmund, according to the Sun.

The centre-back had previously been linked with Liverpool prior to Van Dijk’s arrival, but is set to move to the Bundesliga for a fee of £20 million.

Kane could revitalise Madrid’s forward line

Goal chief correspondent Peter Staunton believes Harry Kane is the man who could get Real Madrid firing again, although it may come too late to save Zinedine Zidane’s job.

Madrid’s woes in front of goal were laid bare on Saturday as they went down to Villarreal, while Kane helped himself to a double in Spurs’ 4-0 thrashing of Everton.

Manchester United are readying a record-breaking €500 million offer for Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar, according to Le 10 Sport.

Real Madrid were reported to be leading the chase for the Brazilian, but they can only go as high as €400m.

That has left the door open for Jose Mourinho to join the chase and agree to meet an eye-watering buyout clause.
