9/12 WWE SmackDown Live House Show Results from Fairfax, VA

This is the 2nd SmackDown Live House Show on a Monday during this new Draft Era. The original lineup card that was advertised leading into the show tonight was a Triple Main Event of Cena vs Styles , Ambrose vs Ziggler for the WWE Title and Orton vs Wyatt with card never being updated as it was changed throughout the night as the show went on. It was changed to a Double Main Event of Styles vs Ambrose for the WWE Title, Cena/Orton vs Wyatt/Rowan and included Ziggler vs Miz. I knew that when AJ beat Ambrose for the Belt last night at Backlash the card was going to be different . I also thought Orton wasn’t going to appear because he hasn’t wrestled any events the last month due to being injured at Summer Slam via Lesnar. Orton was also replaced by Kane and pulled from his match with Bray last night at Backlash because of a reported concussion and in the storyline Bray attacked him backstage but appeared later to deliver an RKO to Wyatt.

1) Dolph Ziggler defeated Intercontinental Champion The Miz (w/Maryse) with the Zig Zag in a Non-Title Match. Very good action packed opener that was similar to their match last night at Backlash only with Dolph picking up the win stealing the show this time.

2) Nikki Bella defeated Carmella with the Argentina Backbreaker.

3) Baron Corbin defeated Apollo Crews with the End of Days.

– Kane was suppose to take on Fandango one on one but Breezango came out and challenged The Demon to a Dance off. Kane eventually hit them both with a Double Choke Slam.

4) The Hype Bros. & Jason Jordan defeated The Vaudevillains & Konnor in a Six Man Tag Team Match when Mojo Rawley pinned Aiden English. Mojo was in his hometown of Fairfax and had family/friends in attendance.

– Bray Wyatt and Erik Rowan came out to the ring for a Tag Match and surprisingly Randy Orton’s music hit and came out to a huge pop. Followed by John Cena who was also very over as Orton’s Tag Team

5) Main Event # 1- John Cena & Randy Orton defeated Bray Wyatt & Erik Rowan when Orton pinned Wyatt after the RKO. It was cool to see Cena and Orton team up tonight as they had a long history of feuding and teaming up in the past. The match mainly consisted of Cena going at it with Wyatt and Rowan. Randy didn’t take any bumps at all and got involved more towards the end. Due to this match It looks like WWE will Slowly work him back in. Both Orton and Cena celebrated after the match.

6) SmackDown Woman’s Champion Becky Lynch & Naomi defeated Natalya & Alexa Bliss when Lynch applied the Disarm-Her submission on Natty for the win.

7) SmackDown Tag Team Champions Rhyno & Heath Slater defeated The Usos when Rhyno pinned Jey after hitting the Gore. This was a rematch from last night with Slater and Rhyno’s first title defense and they were pretty over with crowd.

– The new WWE Champion ” The Phenomenal 1″ AJ Styles came out to A good pop for his first WWE World Title defense in a rematch from Backlash with “The Lunatic Fringe ” Dean Ambrose.

8) Main Event # 2- WWE World Hvt. Champion AJ Styles defeated Dean Ambrose with a low blow kick and Styles Clash for the finish. This was a great back and fourth match with lots of action and near falls. The end result was the same as Backlash but after the match Styles went for a springboard punch but Ambrose countered it with a kick and Dirty Deeds to send the crowd home happy as Ambrose celebrated.

Overall a great show with lots of action and entertainment. The Eaglebank Arena didn’t have a huge attendance tonight with only the lower deck full. I guess people are not use to the Monday Night House Shows again yet because of Raw and Monday Night Football. Hopefully they will
Return soon.
