Jinder vs. Lesnar Feud Begins, New Role for Batista Announced

It was reported a while ago that WWE was planning on building towards a Brock Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal match for Survivor Series. The match would reportedly see the Universal Champion and WWE Champion square off for the very first time in a non-title match, and it is reportedly one of several ‘Smackdown vs. Raw’ matches planned for the event next month. While rumors of Brock and Jinder challenging other opponents has been reported in some places, it appears that WWE is indeed sticking with their plans to have Mahal and Lesnar face off at next WWE pay-per-view in Houston, Texas after all. The buildup for the match began on this week’s Smackdown.
On Smackdown, Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers came down to the ring and issued a challenge to Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. Mahal claimed that no one on Smackdown is worthy of challenging him for the title, so he wants to face Lesnar in order to establish himself as the greatest WWE Champion in history. WWE already alerted fans on social media that Brock Lesnar will be appearing on next week’s Raw to respond to the challenge thrown out by Jinder Mahal. This likely means that Lesnar will be accepting the challenge, which would confirm the reports of WWE planning the match for the past few weeks now.

Batista’s wrestling career appears to be behind him now, but the former WWE Champion has kept himself busy with plenty of film roles, most notably as Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy film series. He has also appeared in hit films such as the Spectre and Blade Runner 2049, but Batista has just signed on for another film role. Deadline.com reported recently that Batista has signed on for a new animated film called Groove Tails. He will be lending his voice to multiple characters in the film. The movie is produced by and starring Jamie Foxx, and How to Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda 2‘s Cameron Hood is slated to direct the movie soon.
