205 Live Results (09/11): Alexander & Tozawa vs Gulak & Gallagher

Tonight’s episode of 205 Live opens up with General Manager Drake Maverick running down tonight’s two pre-announced matches and the history behind them.
Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness & Percy Watson welcomes us to tonight’s show live in Lafayette, Louisiana.
We go to the ring for tonight’s opening match between Buddy Murphy & Gran Metalik.

Buddy Murphy vs. Gran Metalik: Plenty of counters to get things rolling. Metalik with a handspring off the ropes, but nobody is home. Metalik hits a hurricanrana on Murphy followed by a dropkick and Murphy is out to the floor. Metalik slides out to the floor. Murphy with a shot to the face and sends Metalik into the barricade a couple of times. Metalik recovers, then heads up to the top turnbuckle. Metalik nails a moonsault to the floor and tosses Murphy in. Metalik goes for a cover, but only gets a one count. Metalik ends up getting sent face first into the ring post and crumples down to the floor. Murphy drags him back into the ring and pins him, but only gets a one count. Murphy with a kick to the back followed by a knee to the back. Murphy applies a reverse chin-lock to Metalik for a really long time. Metalik gets put up on the top turnbuckle, fights back and nails a sunset powerbomb. Metalik on the apron now. Metalik with a kick to the head followed by a springboard crossbody, then another kick to the head. 
Metalik with a reverse sling-blade followed by a chop to the chest, then a springboard back elbow, then goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Metalik hits a superkick on Murphy followed by a second rope moonsault. Metalik heads to the top and gets crotched by Murphy. Murphy looks for a suplex, but Metalik fights him off, flips and lands on his feet. Metalik walks the ropes, leaps, but Murphy catches him and hits a spinning sit-out powerbomb, then goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Metalik gets back into this as he hits a superkick on Murphy. Murphy with a big kick of his own. Metalik returns fire with a lariat, then hits a metalik driver, then goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Murphy sends Metalik to the apron. Springboard by Metalik, but nothing there. Metalik tries for a kick, gets flipped back on his feet and his knee buckles. Murphy hits his Murphy’s law finisher and picks up the win. Winner: Buddy Murphy
After the match, Murphy grabs the mic and says that you can’t stop the unstoppable. Murphy continues by saying that he is the biggest and strongest in the division. Murphy then says that beating Metalik was just another step as he heads towards The Super Show-Down where he will take the title away from Cedric Alexander.
Vic Joseph says that Mustafa Ali has been medically cleared and will compete tonight. We see a clip from last month when Ali ended up passing out due to exhaustion after losing to Hideo Itami. We also see a clip from last week where Maverick says that until he feels Ali is healthy, he isn’t going to step in the ring again.

We head backstage to the locker room area where Ali is getting ready for his match. Cedric Alexander shows up and wishes his buddy good luck and says that the show hasn’t been the same without him. Ali wishes he was tagging with Alexander in the main event tonight. Alexander tells him not to worry and just to focus on his match. Alexander also tells him that he is good with Tozawa as his partner. The camera pans over to a super intense Tozawa, who notices them, then he smiles and waves.
Mustafa Ali vs. Michael Thompson: Before the match gets started, Hideo Itami heads out with a mic. He speaks in Japanese at first and then he tells Ali that he came to watch the match and says that he missed him (while laughing). Hide Itami then says “I hope you are feeling better, good luck!” Ali dodges a clothesline and lands a few chops. Ali with a pop-up dropkick followed by a chop. Ali dodges his charging opponent twice, then kicks him in the face. Ali hits a rolling facebuster on his opponent as Itami watches on from the stage. Ali gets slammed face first into the second turnbuckle. His opponent tries for a suplex, but Ali lands on his feet and hits a superkick followed by a tornado DDT. Drake Maverick is shown watching on from the back. Ali hits the 054 for the easy victory. Winner: Mustafa Ali
After the match, Ali yells at Itami who is laughing, smiling, and clapping at him since the beginning of the match. Ali invites him to come into the ring, but Itami doesn’t oblige.

We head backstage where 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick speaks with Drew Gulak and Gentleman Jack Gallagher. Maverick says that he is excited for tonight’s match and hopes things don’t turn into chaos. Gulak then says that tonight their sole priority is to gain a victory for their comrade, The Brian Kendrick, who is home thanks to Akira Tozawa. Gallagher cracks a joke about Maverick managing AOP and Maverick says that he can call them if Gallagher would like to meet them, then he suddenly quiets down.
We see a clip from earlier today where Noam Dar cuts a promo about Lio Rush and says that he understands being the young hot shot in 205 Live. He then tells Rush to come after him if he wants.
We also see a clip from earlier today where Lio Rush tells Dar to keep his name out of his mouth and says that he has big things ahead of him. 
We are informed that next week it will be Lio Rush vs. Noam Dar.
Drew Gulak & Gentleman Jack Gallagher vs. WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander & Akira Tozawa: Gulak and Alexander get things started. Alexander tries for a lumbar check early on and Gulak quickly gets to his corner. Gallagher tags in and works on Alexander’s wrist and fingers, but the champ slips away and nails a dropkick. He stares at Gulak for a moment and tags in Tozawa. Alexander and Tozawa with a couple of chops and both punch Gulak in the face. Alexander basically falls towards Gulak and tags out. Gulak gets in there and gets punched in the face by Tozawa. Tozawa hits a running senton on Gulak, then goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Tozawa with an octopus stretch in the middle of the ring, but Gulak gets over to the rope to break the hold. Blind tag by Gallagher. Gallagher and Gulak hits a double powerslam on Tozawa. Gallagher stretches Tozawa out as the crowd tries to get him back into this one. Tozawa is able to get to the rope. Gulak tags back in and taunts Alexander a bit. Gallagher tags in. Akira with a few punches to the midsection of Gallagher. Gallagher returns fire, then goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Tozawa is really getting worked over now as he can’t get any offense in. Gallagher with a cheap shot on Alexander. Gulak and Gallagher just swinging away on Tozawa as the referee is focused on Alexander.
Gulak with a Russian leg sweep transitioned into a powerbomb, then goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. The crowd with a “We want Cedric!” chant. Gulak looks for another powerbomb, but Tozawa counters with a DDT. Alexander and Gallagher are in there now. Back elbow by Alexander followed by a handspring spinning kick, then goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Alexander goes a lumbar check, but it gets countered and Gallagher goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Alexander hits a spanish fly, then goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Alexander knocks Gulak to the floor, but Gallagher lands a big jumping kick, then goes for a cover, but Tozawa runs in to break up the pin and then gets tossed to the ring. Gulak tags back in. High/low combination by Gallagher and Gulak, then Gulak goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Gallagher is tagged back in. Tozawa tags in. Alexander and Gulak end up crashing out on the floor. Tozawa with a dropkick off the top rope, then hits a spinning kick that sends Gallagher to the floor. Tozawa with a suicide dive. Back in the ring, Tozawa heads to the top rope, then goes for a senton splash, but Gulak pulls Gallagher out of the ring. Alexander charges out on the floor and swings away on Gulak. Gallagher helps out. Gulak throws Alexander into the ring post. Back in the ring, headbutt by Gallagher on Tozawa. Gulak comes in and gets in the gu-lock for the tap out victory. Winners: Drew Gulak & Gentleman Jack Gallagher
After the match, Alexander and Gulak jaw at each other. We head backstage where Kayla Braxton asks Maverick on his thoughts about what just happened. Maverick says that next week it will be Alexander vs. Gulak for The WWE Cruiserweight Title. 205 Live goes off the air.
