It has just been reported that legendary professional wrestler José Lothario passed away earlier this week. Lothario died yesterday at the age of 83, according to former NWA President Bruce Tharpe. There are no details on the cause of his death at this time. Lothario competed in several different promotions throughout his career, and he even helped train future WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. He appeared in Michaels’ corner during WrestleMania XII. Lothario is perhaps best known for his run in the NWA, and he was inducted into the promotion’s Hall of Fame last year. José Lothario began wrestling in the 1970s, and although he retired a while back, fans still remember Lothario for his legendary performances.

As seen on WWE programming throughout the week, Raw and SmackDown were both hosted in the United Kingdom. The shows come during a time when WWE is experiencing an ongoing European tour. This does mean that key Performance Center coaches have traveled to Europe with the rest of the WWE crew in hopes of recruiting some potential new WWE Superstars. WWE confirmed that Ilja Rukober (also known as Iisa Dragunov) is one of the names in attendance for the tryouts. Other men and women from all over the continent will arrive for the tryouts hosted by WWE. Given WWE’s relationships with some European independent promotions, as well as their new NXT UK show, it will be interesting to see if any of these new names join WWE soon.
Raw Superstar Braun Strowman is one the latest WWE Superstars who is reportedly dealing with some injuries. The WWE roster has been plagued injuries lately, and even Andrade “Cien” Almas’ business manager is not safe. PWInsider reports that Zelina Vega likely suffered a concussion when she was thrown out of the women’s battle royal at Evolution. Vega did not appear on SmackDown with Almas last night, and she is not expected to be added to Team SmackDown at Survivor Series either. Much like when Alexa Bliss received her own concussion a few weeks back, this injury hopefully should not keep Vega out of action for long. The report notes that Vega could be good to go again in as soon as one week.
