Lars Sullivan Idea Dropped, Drew & Finn Pushes, NXT Star in wXw

Since Survivor Series, WWE has been hyping up the arrival of Lars Sullivan. Lars has been competing in NXT for months now, but he will be joining the Raw or SmackDown roster in early 2019, and he is said to be receiving a push upon his arrival as well. What hasn’t been revealed yet is which show Lars will be debuting on. According to Cageside Seats, WWE originally intended on having the General Managers of Raw and SmackDown engage in a bidding war with the winning brand getting Sullivan as a roster member. However, that idea has been scrapped as a result of the McMahon family returning to TV and removing the GMs from power. As of right now, details on Lars Sullivan’s WWE main roster debut are being kept a secret.
It was reported recently that Raw Superstar Finn Balor is in line to receive a major push very soon. Balor has been involved in a feud with Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre on Raw over the past few weeks. On the subject of McIntyre, he has also been said to be a top priority for WWE in 2019. According to the Wrestling Observer Radio program, an emphasis will be placed on McIntyre and Balor by WWE over the next few weeks. Balor is reportedly receiving his push this month while Drew will be focused on much more starting next month. Both of these fan-favorite wrestlers have a ton of potential and could accomplish a lot in WWE, so fans may want to keep an eye on the both of them throughout the new year.
There are certain promotions all over the world that WWE is partnered with, and sometimes, WWE Superstars are even allowed to compete on a few shows for those promotions. PROGRESS Wrestling, ICW, and EVOLVE are among the ‘greenlit’ promotions, but WWE has also aligned themselves with Germany’s wXw. In fact, it has just been announced that a member of the NXT roster will be coming back to the nation for an upcoming wXw event. NXT’s Marcel Barthel is coming back to his home country to work shows in Oberhausen on March 8th-10th. He will be involved in wXw’s 16 Carat Gold tournament, but can Barthel return to wXw and win the tournament? That answer will be revealed in just a few more months.
