Backstage News On WWE’s Relationship With The Saudis, Top Stars
As previously reported, the planned WWE Event that is scheduled to take place in The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia on Friday, May 3rd has been moved to Friday, June 7th, but as of this writing the event has not yet been officially announced. WWE is also set to run a second show this year from The King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday, November 1st.
It was previously reported as well that a possible reason for this change is due to logistical issues, Also, WWE would be needing two different production crews for the weekend of June 7th if The Saudi Show date change does becomes official as they have a WWE NXT TakeOver: San Jose Event planned for Saturday, June 8th.
About rumors of The Undertaker working WWE’s return to Saudi Arabia, The Observer reports that “The Dead Man” was contacted and had agreed to return on The May 3rd Show. WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar is also scheduled for that show. There is no word yet on if they will still work the show with it being moved to June.
The Observer also reports that the working relationship between WWE & The Saudi Government remains very strong.
