Drean Bolívar confirmed that they want to defend the title won four consecutive seasons after defeating in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires Unidos 1-3. Now, as last year, they will play the final series against UPCN.
The fifth and definitive semi-final match between Buenos Aires Unidos and Drean Bolívar stopped Mar del Plata city with the stadium of Once Unidos overcrowded by hundreds of local and visiting teams fans. Seven buses came from San Carlos de Bolívar to support their team as they have been doing since the team started playing the ACLAV Argentine A1 Men Teams League.
At the last minute, Luciano De Cecco could not play due to a renal colic and had to be treated by Gabriel Solari, the team’s head doctor that left him out of the match. De Cecco was the star of last Saturday match and today he was replaced by Juan Riganti. Added to this substitution Giachetta was injured and Meana and Arroyo with pains while on the other side of the net, Milinkovic was also not feeling good but he started playing from the beginning of the match.
In a match very levelled, with both teams studying each other movements all the time and not giving any advantage, all players gave their utmost but the defending champion experience gave them the first two sets and a wide advantage on the fourth, therefore qualifying for a new Final Series, and as last year, with the same rival: UPCN from San Juan.
