Pep Guardiola issued a monotonous response to suggestions Manchester City are already out of the title race.
The defending champions were already far behind league leaders Liverpool going into their clash with Wolves, but a last-minute defeat only increased the doubts over City’s chances.

Guardiola’s side are 14 points behind Liverpool at the halfway stage, having missed their chance to reclaim second place from Leicester.
“It is always what it is,” he told Amazon Prime. “We could not defend it at the end, they fought incredible, ran until the last minute. The goals could have been avoided.
“They [my players] feel no regrets, they did everything to defend the result.”
City had been in a winning position for most of the match, and were 2-1 up when Guardiola decided to take Kevin De Bruyne off on 67 minutes.
The tactician explained that the decision was due to the short turnaround before their next game.
“We have less than 48 hours for our next game.”
With City now 14 points adrift in the title race, Guardiola then dismissed any talk of their ability to retain their title.
“It is big for a long time. It is not realistic to think about the title race. I have been asked the question for a long time and it is the same answer.”
