Over 1,400 Sanitation Workers In Mumbai Lost Their Jobs Due To Spelling Errors In Names

Sanitation workers face a lot of problems – the biggest being the health hazards after being around the garbage and filth while cleaning it up. If that was not enough, sanitary workers in Mumbai face another problem – job insecurity.

These workers were sacked by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) as the spelling of their names was not right in documents submitted to the Supreme Court that sought permanent status for their jobs. The workers held a protest against the civic body’s decision at Azad Maidan.
