Ruud Gullit slams Everton, urges Ancelotti to choose Arsenal

Ruud Gullit has said that Carlo Ancelotti should choose Arsenal over Premier League rivals Everton as his next managerial role.

Ancelotti is a manager in demand, having recently been sacked by Italian club Napoli despite leading them to the last-16 stage of the Champions League this season.

The Toffees are on the hunt for a new permanent manager following the dismissal of Marco Silva, while Arsenal are looking for a replacement for Unai Emery.

Former Chelsea star and Newcastle United manager Gullit has urged Ancelotti to snub Everton for Premier League rivals Arsenal due to the potential of the Gunners and their chances of playing in the Champions League.

“It’s not because of Everton, but Ancelotti belongs to a contender for the Champions League,” Gullit said on beIN SPORTS. “Already Napoli was a decision which I was like ‘are you sure?’

“Everton doesn’t play Champions League, it’s not even close. Arsenal, yes. For sure. That’s an opportunity for Arsenal to get somebody has the credentials, and the cups and a lot of players want to play for him.”

While Arsenal are not playing in the Champions League this season, the Gunners were regulars in the competition under manager Arsene Wenger.

The North London outfit are still in a good position to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season, with the team currently seven points off the final Champions League spot.

Everton themselves have lofty ambitions, but the Toffees have been unable to break into the top six and are currently 14th in the standings with 17 points from 16 matches, just two points above the relegation zone.
