In a shocking incident, at least 18 cows have been found suffocated to death in a cow shelter in Chhattisgarh, while in another incident that took place in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area, 15 oxens have been found dead from an abandoned truck. The passerby called police after foul smell started spreading.
The first incident took place in Chhattisgarh’s Balodabazar district. The cows died of suffocation in a cow shelter managed by the village panchayat. The villagers had reportedly locked these cows in a room as they were worried that the cattle might damage their crops.

Carcasses of 18 cows were recovered from Rohasi village on August 3, Balodabazar collector Janak Prasad Pathak told PTI.
The incident came to light after local officials received information that carcasses of cows were being transported to be buried in the village, located around 70 km from the state capital, he said.
