Hours after the foot overbridge in Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) collapsed, killing at least six people and injuring over 30 others, the usual blame game has begun, with the opposition targeting BJP-Shiv Sena ruled Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for its failure to upgrade the crumbling infrastructure of India’s financial capital.
Under fire, the Devendra Fadnavis government has ordered a probe into the accident which he termed as “unfortunate”.
Police have registered cases against BMC and Indian Railway officials charging them with culpable homicide following the accident.
What is even more shocking is that just six months ago the bridge was declared ‘fit to use’ after a structural audit. There are also reports that the auditor had recommended minor repairs, but only beautification was carried out.Click Here: essendon bombers guernsey 2019
