Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp thinks it’s “nice” to have Jose Mourinho back in the Premier League, while he has tipped Mauricio Pochettino to be “in contention” for “any job” that comes up.
The 56-year-old replaced his friend in the Spurs dugout following Pochettino’s ruthless sacking earlier this week.
It is his fourth role in this country following two stints at Chelsea and one at Manchester United and Mourinho is keen to make it his last before retiring to Portugal.
Klopp, reacting to Mourinho‘s appointment, said: Welcome back Jose, haha! It’s nice to have him back. He was desperate, you can see that from the time he was not in. How quick things change.
“Five months ago played Poch in CL final, now he is on holiday. He did brilliant job at Tottenham.
“When I first heard it, I couldn’t believe it in that moment. I really hope he can enjoy a few days, weeks or months off. Jose is motivated highly, so it will be interesting.”
On Pochettino, Klopp added: “A great guy. My first PL game was against him so we have a history. Any job that is available he will be in contention.”
