Does the name Sophia Grace ring a bell?
If it doesn’t, watch the video below and you’ll know exactly who we’re talking about. In 2011, then 8-year-old Sophia and her 5-year-old cousin Rosie performed on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, where after dropping an epic version of Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass,” Sophia went on to meet the rapper herself.
It was fabulous AF, and little Sophia—who, by the way, is from England but nails an American accent—went on to share clips of herself on YouTube, collectively earning over 2 million subscribers.
Now, 14-year-old Sophia has legit full-fledged programming, not to mention an Instagram account that rivals our own.
But why should you care? Well, a week ago, she dropped a new music video for a song called “Why U Mad” and all we can say is that you should prepare to sing this one out loud for days.
In the clip, Sophia poses one real question: “Look at some of the comments on my recent Instagram picture?” she asks her friends. “I just don’t understand, like, why you so mad?”
As the music rolls, she and her troop of teens nail choreography that harkens back to Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” music video.
It’s empowered. It’s funny. And it’s certainly super catchy.
