Other teams in their fleet also chose more unconventional music, including the highest-placing Chinese team Xiaoyu Yu and Hao Zhang, who skated to the Star Wars songs “Luke and Leia” and “Duel of the Fates.”

The modern music won’t stop there, and going forward, skating fans can expect to see it included in the singles events.
The men’s figure skating short program competition, which begins Friday, will feature Olympians competing to a wide range of music, from a Jewish folk song “Hava Nagila” to Michael Buble and Snow Patrol, so it seems that the fun music choices will keep on coming.
