Gary Neville claims he only has “one problem” with Paul Pogba after Jose Mourinho lost his job at Manchester United.
Pogba‘s relationship with Mourinho went downhill in the final months of the Portuguese boss’ tenure with a number of high-profiel incidents souring things.
The France international took to Instagram and Twitter following Mourinho’s departure to post the words “Caption this” alongside a photo of himself posing with an ambiguous smile.
The post was deleted ten minutes later – with Pogba claiming the post had been scheduled – but it still leaves a sour taste in the mouth for Neville, who was speaking on Sky Sports following United’s fourth win in a row under new interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“Everyone always concentrates on Paul Pogba,” Neville said.
“I only have one problem with Paul Pogba and that was his post, which I think disrespected Jose Mourinho in losing his job.
“We know it didn’t come from the club, we know it didn’t come from adidas, we know it came from Paul Pogba, so my view personally is that was a massive disappointment to disrespect somebody that’s lost their job.”
United’s turnaround has been remarkable under Solskjaer with the Red Devils scoring 14 goals in four Premier League matches.
Pogba, who received a lot of stick for his performances under Mourinho, scored four goals in those games and assisted three more.
