Manchester United are readying a record-breaking €500 million offer for Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar, according to Le 10 Sport .

Real Madrid were reported to be leading the chase for the Brazilian, but they can only go as high as €400m.

That has left the door open for Jose Mourinho to join the chase and agree to meet an eye-watering buyout clause.

Akanji to snub Liverpool for Dortmund

Switzerland defender Manuel Akanji is set to move to Borussia Dortmund despite interest from Liverpool, according to Blick.

The centre-back missed training with Basel in order to travel to Dortmund where he will agree terms and complete a medical ahead of a €21.5 million transfer.

Spurs and Liverpool had both been linked with the 22-year-old, but he preferred a move to Dortmund as he felt he could more easily break into their first team.

Stoke turn attentions back to O’Neill

Stoke City have turned their attentions back to Martin O’Neill after Quique Sanchez Flores decided to stay at Espanyol, according to the Telegraph.

The Potters had hoped Flores would agree to take over at the Britannia Stadium following Mark Hughes’ sacking, but saw the former Watford boss confirm his desire to stay in La Liga at a press conference on Saturday.

As a result, Stoke will now go with their second choice for the job, current Republic of Ireland boss O’Neill, who is expected to take assistant manager Roy Keane with him as he returns to club management.

Alexis’ family arrive in London ahead of Arsenal exit

The family of Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez have arrived in London ahead of the Chile international’s expected departure from the club, Goal can reveal.

Manchester City still lead the way in terms of capturing the former Barcelona ace, but Man United carry an interest too.

Paris Saint-Germain have made Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante their top target for the summer transfer window, reports Le 10 Sport .

The Ligue 1 leaders are eager to find a long-term replacement for Thiago Motta.

Manchester United’s “gamble” on Alexis Sanchez surprises Paul Merson, who feels Jose Mourinho is risking a “custard pie” if the player ends up at arch-rivals Manchester City.

The former Arsenal forward told Sky Sports: “It’s a big gamble what Jose’s done with Alexis Sanchez, by going ‘I want Sanchez’. Because if Sanchez chooses to go to Man City, that’s a real custard pie to Man United.”

Man Utd to make De Gea highest-paid player

Manchester United are ready to give David de Gea a massive raise in an attempt to fend off interest from Real Madrid, according to The Sun

Madrid are still circling for the 27-year-old and with De Gea’s contract set to expire in 2019, the Red Devils want to offer a new deal to lock down their prized goalkeeper. 

United reportedly plan to up De Gea’s £210,000-a-week wages to £300,000-a-week, making him the club’s joint highest-paid player along with Paul Pogba.
