Major Stipulation Added To Both WWE Royal Rumble Matches, RAW Superstar Pulled From Women’s Rumble

Challenger’s Choice Returns

WWE has announced the return of a major stipulation to both the male and female WWE Royal Rumble matches this evening. Much like in earlier years during the original brand split, whoever wins the Rumble match will have the opportunity to choose which title they challenge for at WrestleMania 34.

That means if Finn Balor, for instance, wins the men’s Royal Rumble match tonight he could choose to face WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar or move to the Smackdown Live brand to challenge WWE Champion AJ Styles. This was always the case since the two brands first developed exclusive rosters, however in the last two years since the modern brand split the rule has never been addressed and it was widely assumed the company had just done away with the concept.

WWE Superstar Pulled From Female Rumble Match

WWE Raw GM, Kurt Angle has announced that Alicia Fox will not be able to compete in tonight’s first ever female WWE Royal Rumble due to injury. Fox has also been pulled from the WWE Mixed Match Challenge where she was expected to team with Goldust.

Due to injury, @AliciaFoxy will be unable to compete in tonight’s #RoyalRumble match…..
