As noted, new WWE United States Champion Jeff Hardy was arrested back on March 10th for Driving While Impaired, after his car crashed in Concord, NC.
Hardy was due back in a Cabarrus County Court on Monday, but because he was in Hartford, CT for Raw, it’s likely Hardy’s attorney represented him in court, reports PWInsider.com.
The PWInsider report furthers Hardy now has a court date scheduled for May 14th to face the DUI charges.
The accident report in the case notes Hardy “ran off the roadway to the right, in turn striking about 105 feet of guardrail before the back end of the car spun out 90 degrees to the left, coming to rest in the middle of the right N bound lane of travel. The driver was arrested and charged with DWI.” The report furthers an estimated $8,000 in total damages to Hardy’s car.

WWE previously issued the following statement to ProWrestling.com regarding Hardy’s arrest:
“Jeff Hardy is responsible for his own personal actions. We are investigating the matter and awaiting information from local law enforcement officials.”
Clearly, WWE moved forward with plans for Hardy on TV, as he returned as scheduled from injury and won the U.S. Title on Raw last night. Hardy will next travel to Saudi Arabia to defend the Title against Jinder Mahal at Greatest Royal Rumble.
