Impact Wrestling Hall of Famer Gail Kim returned to television this Thursday night on Pop TV, saving an official from being murdered by Knockouts Champion Tessa Blanchard.
Okay so maybe she wasn’t going to actually kill the guy but the ref was turning purple before Kim stormed the ring, surrounded by a sea of referees and Impact management, to physically involve herself in the champ’s business.
The two nearly came to blows, despite the 41-year-old Canadian legend behind officially retired from in-ring competition, but luckily the self-proclaimed “Queen of Lucha Libre” Taya Valkyrie intervened with a monstrous spear to send the champion packing.

Tessa Blanchard will defend the Knockouts Championship against Taya Valkyrie on Jan. 6th at Impact Homecoming, in a huge rematch from October’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view. It’s expected that Gail Kim will be announced as the special guest referee for the bout.
To be fair, the referee probably deserved it…
